ADAM HORGAS
He is a multitalented artist, theater and film director, writer, choreographer, actor, dancer and composer. He creates productions as a ‘synthesis of the arts’. Founder and artistic director of the Atlantis Theater. The creator of the first Hungarian web series Mab, after which he organized the first European Web Series Festival. 2018-2022 chief director of the Szeged National Theater and head of the prose department.

He was preparing to become a painter when – during his high school years, in 1986 – he was admitted to the studio of the Arvisura Theater, where he studied stage movement, contact dance, ethnic dances, acrobatics and pantomime in addition to acting skills. After eight years he signed a contract with Pince Theatre.
In 1990 his first book was published at the age of 21 years, which he wrote under the title Szeltagor.
In 1995 he founded his own company, Atlantis Theater, with Eva Molnar. In 2000, Tamas Jordan managing director engaged the whole company to the Merlin Theatre, in 2003 they received the award for the best company in the city of Budapest.

For four years, he taught acting and movement at the Hungarian Academy of Dramatic Arts, at different alternative companies and at various drama schools in Budapest. Among others he performed and created choreographies in the Katona József Theater, the Comedy Theatre, the Pesti Theatre and the New Theatre in Budapest. He directs in all major theatres over the country.
He is also well known for his adaptations as a writer, such as 1984, The Collector, Things worth living for, Intouchables or Flower for Algernon. Orwell’s right holders granted his 1984 adaptation with exclusive rights, and he was the only one in Hungary to receive the rights for stage adaptation of Intouchables.
In 2006, together with Eva Botos, they founded the band ShakuEcho, which has released several albums, their music can also be heard as the theme and background songs of films.
In 2020, they wrote with Janos Szemenyei composer the quarantine song „Little whisper” created with the participation of 169 artists. The song is included in their new musical titled Great Little Man about the world-famous Hungarian circus artist, Zoli the Clown who saved lives with his art.
In 2022, he founded his own social media-based filmmaking company called Digital Producer, which has more than 100,000 followers.
